a little about me

Mad scientist of everyday magic.

I'm Derek, also known as Archalon. I've been recording my own words for years. That practice has helped me move through a career change, divorce, and the loss of a parent, while making more room for the creative life I want.

Improv is part of that life. I nearly backed out of my first class. Now, many performances later, I can't picture my life without it. Inner Rehearsals grew out of the same ongoing practice of finding words I can carry into what I do next.

Into the Extraordinary is where I'm following these questions, making things, and giving myself a little more room to play.
